This library allows users to integrate data from remote and distributed databases. Some users require that objects in a 3D scene be associated with database information.

DISTRIBUTED DATABASE

Many of the objects within a 3D scene have data or history (or both).

For example, an object like a valve could have many items of data:
  • Current Status Data
  • Open or closed
  • Turns required to open or close
  • Torque require during open/close operation
  • Date/time opened/closed
  • History of all previous openings/closings
  • Product data
  • Manufacturer, model and serial number
  • Date installed, installed by
  • Specifications
  • Exploded drawings
  • Manufacturers Hot Line number
  • Maintenance and repair records
This software library enables construction and access to a database of critical information associated the objects within the 3D scene.
  • Database can be local or remote
  • Database functionality and query available. For example, the query, "How many" valves made by a certain manufacturer have I purchased, and where are they installed?
  • Integrates with existing databases and links with other in-house systems (parts re-supply, inventory, job costing)
  • Remote users can view data independently
